Photos: Wicker Park Fest's Most Fashionable Humans And Dogs

Tens of thousands of Chicagoans stuffed Milwaukee Avenue this weekend for Wicker Park Fest—bringing their free hugs, cute pooches and fashion choices both solid and questionable with them.

When we attended the annual summer music festival Sunday, things had grown far mellower than Saturday, when we received a text from the Fest begging attendees to stop leaving through the North Gate due to over-congestion (an issue that seems to plague that gate on a yearly basis). Increased police presence due to a shooting Saturday night also seemed to help revelers revel a little more mellowly.

But don't mistake a low-key vibe as a sign of sparse attendance. The crowd at the stage for Veruca Salt was packed from sidewalk to opposing sidewalk with folks straining for a glimpse of the band late Sunday night, and the crowds had actually thinned out a bit by then! And down the block Double Door's F*ck Fest saw crowds slowly grow throughout the day. We sent a photographer to take in the scene. —Jim Kopeny / Tankboy
