Meat Wave Releases Hallucinogenic Video For 'Delusion Moon'

Local garage punks, Meat Wave, have been touring around America and Europe seemingly nonstop, playing shows wherever and whenever they’re invited to. In the middle of all of this touring, they somehow also recorded and released a series of EPs.
Brother came out in January and was well received. Their reputation for intense blitzkrieg performances and the strength of their previous work caught the attention of SideOneDummy Records, the same label that incubated bands like Title Fight and Gaslight Anthem and includes artists like Chicagoist interviewee Jeff Rosenstock on their current roster. Their debut on the label, Delusion Moon, comes out on Sept. 8, a few days before their set at Riot Fest.
What we’ve heard of the new album sounds slightly more polished, but not overwhelmingly so. Songs like “Cosmic Zoo” sound like what they are—a DIY punk band that signed to a major indie label and can now afford better sounding recording sessions. Check out the video for the single “Delusion Moon” below, and maybe have an anxiety attack with us.
