Eat Bugs And Explore The Bug Zoo At Bugapalooza

More than just urban pests you hate to find lurking in your apartment, bugs are considered a delicacy around the world and the fascination of scientists. You can start your weekend right with a celebration bugs of all kinds at the 7th annual Bugapalooza, this Friday, Aug. 21.

There will be bugs of all kinds and bug-related activities for all ages such as bug-related crafts, bug face painting and explorations of the bug zoo with Museum scientists. And the braver guests can try some bug cooking.

Regular Nature Museum attractions will also be open during the evening, including The Judy Istock Butterfly Haven and bug exhibits like The Secrets of Bees, BUGS: Outside the Box and A Delicate Majesty: The Insect Art of Alix Lukas. Tickets are $10 for adult members, $15 for adult non-members, $7 for child members and $10 for child non-remembers and registering in advance on their site is encouraged.

Bugapalooza runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 N. Cannon Dr.).
