Video: The Beatles Played In Chicago 50 Years Ago Today—For $2.50 A Ticket

It's one helluva Throwback Thursday today. On Aug. 20, 1965 The Beatles came to town to play at the since-demolished Comiskey Park, and the tickets were just $2.50, $4.50 and $5.50. The video above shows a snippet of the show, and while the sound isn't all that great—live sound in a stadium setting in 1965 was still pretty rough—it gives a glimpse into the insanity the Fab Four caused when they blew into the Windy City.

After the show they went to Margie's Candies on the border of Bucktown and Logan Square, so if you want to pretend you're a Beatle, just for one day, at least one of the places they stopped in Chicago is still standing.
