Chicago just can't stop winning this week. Last night, without any pre-publicity or warning, Chef Cory Morris of Rural Society at Loews Chicago Hotel appeared on Chopped, the Food Network competition show, and won the whole thing.

Morris, whom we've been a fan of since he was chef at Mercat a la Planxa, has gotten good reviews for Rural Society. On Chopped, he won a bizarre foods challenge, cooking with ingredients including pork bung and duck bills.

Morris posted to Facebook last night: "Chopped winner!" with a photo of himself in the kitchen.

A rep for Loews told us that they weren't expecting the show to air when it did, but they're "so excited" for him.
