Amazon's promise of same-day delivery on certain items is getting even better for fans of instant gratification and good deals—same-day delivery is now free in Chicago for orders over $35.

The same-day services, known as Amazon Prime and Amazon Now depending on what you're buying, launched in Chicago last summer. Prime offers over 1 million items available to be delivered for free the same day you buy them online. While there are a few stipulations for the service, including the requirement that you place your order before noon and don't mind waiting until 9 p.m. at the latest, but it's still a huge step forward for online shopping and the demand for faster delivery times.

Amazon also delivers so-called "everyday essentials" that can be delivered within two hours of purchase.

Amazon Prime has been rolling out free same-day delivery slowly, and Chicago and Orlando, Florida were both brought into the fold Wednesday, according to the Tribune.
