The Butcher's Tap in Lakeview is getting into the holiday spirit by putting a burger made of actual reindeer meat on the menu this month.

"There's nothing more festive than enjoying some delicious reindeer," the Southport Corridor restaurant and bar announced on Facebook Thursday. The burger's ingredients include Northern reindeer, cooked medium rare, 1-year aged cheddar from a Wisconsin farm, tempura jalapeƱos, and a house-made tomato and bacon puree.

As DNAinfo cleverly pointed out, the burger is reminiscent of Rudolph, the unforgettable children's book character who helped guide Santa's sleigh through the night sky, in more ways than one: That tomato-bacon puree sits in a ball on top of the reindeer patty like a red nose.
