Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke has been formally indicted on six counts of first-degree murder and one of official misconduct for the death of Laquan McDonald.
The indictment says that Van Dyke shot McDonald knowing it "created a strong probability of death or great bodily harm," according to the AP.
It comes less than a month after Van Dyke was charged with first-degree murder on Nov. 24 for shooting McDonald 16 times in 2014.
He's free on bail but is due back in court on Friday, according to ABC7. Van Dyke's attorney Daniel Herbert did not return a phone call from the AP on Wednesday night.
