When word broke a few days ago that Iggy Pop and Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme had been collaborating we got excited. When we learned that the two had actually created a new Iggy Pop album—Post Pop Depression, out March 18—we got even more excited. And when we learned this morning that Pop was hitting the road with Homme for a select number of dates, one in Chicago, we got very, very excited.

Pop will be backed by Homme, Queens Of The Stone Age members Dean Fertita and Troy Van Leeuwen, bassist (and occasional Chicagoan) Matt Sweeny, and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders. The line-up debuted the first taste of Pop's new album, Gardenia, on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week, hinting at a direction that hews closely to Pop's mid-'70s collaborations with David Bowie, Lust For Life and The Idiot.

Pop and his band will play the Chicago Theatre on April 6. Tickets go on sale Jan. 30 (though a fan club presale launches Jan. 28. Tickets will run you between 39.50 and $99.50.

UPDATE: In addition to the fan club presale, there is also an "internet presale," and we have the code for that! Between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Jan. 29 you can get tickets with the password: DEPRESSION. Good luck!
