It might not seem like it now, what with the strange hail/blizzards happening outside, but it's almost time for farmers market season! The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events released the full schedule Thursday, and the first markets open in April and early May.

Officially, market season kicks off on May 12, with the opening of the Daley Plaza farmers market. But if you just can't wait that long, the Wood Street Farm Stand by Growing Home opens on April 20 (5814 S. Wood St.) and Green City Market kicks off on May 7.

We've already seen photos of ramps, morels and asparagus starting to show up in our instagram feed, and that means, despite the weather, that spring is really coming.
