Wicker Park will play host to a Winona Ryder-themed "Movies In The Park" series this summer.

Wicker Park Advisory Council has announced the dates for the series: Thursdays June 16, 23, 30; Tuesday, July 19; and Thursday, August 4. The movies will screen at dusk on the softball field of Wicker Park proper.

Other than that, details are scant, and the actual movie titles will be announced next month. But there's a lot of crowd-pleasers in her oeuvre, like Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice and Heathers. Reality Bites, a Gen X classic, and Girl, Interrupted could be good candidates, too.

Ryder and Wicker Park (the neighborhood) are a good match: they both have cult followings for their output in the 90s. "She is also a movie star who is unreasonably beautiful, but there was always a sense that she still belonged to the Island of Misfit Toys," said a very long essay focused on the rift between Ryder and her frenemy Gwyneth Paltrow.

DNA Info reports that Wormhole Coffee and Scone City are footing the bill for three of the five screenings.

Here's a comprehensive guide to all the upcoming events in Wicker Park. Wicker Park is located at 1425 N. Damen Ave.
