We've reached the Elite Eight in our 2016 Chicago Beer Bracket. We started with 32 local beers, then thousands of you voted in the Sweet 16 round (one poll had more than 3,500 votes) and helped us narrow the field to eight. We're getting close to the best beer in Chicago.

The biggest news from last round? Goose Island Bourbon County stout, the unstoppable juggernaut, has been defeated by Ale Syndicate's Richie Imperial Porter. Also, no single brewery has more than one entry in the competition, as Half Acre's Akari Shogun and Off Color's Bear Bare were both knocked out. The most decisive victory? Half Acre Daisy Cutter, which beat Begyle's Euchred 80% to 20%. Ouch.

This round will remain open until Monday at midnight. Get voting, and may the best beer win!
