If you've been on Instagram in the last three months, chances are, you've seen a shot of something at Bunny, The Microbakery. Originally funded through Kickstarter, the bakery (which opened in late January) specialized in beautiful pastries and savories. Unfortunately, they're shutting down.

The reviews were positive, and Mike Sula of The Reader called it "Magic." The bakery closed temporarily last week, but now it looks like it's for good. A message just went out to the restaurant's Kickstarter backers (Full disclosure: I was one) announcing the closure.

It's with an extremely heavy heart to let you know that I will have to close Bunny permanently. Through many delays and expenses incurred we didn't have enough financial backing to pull us through the first few months of leveling out. I have tried in every way I could possibly think of to make this endeavor work and it looks like there is no positive long term solution for me or my team.

Regan generously attempted to make sure all her backers got their rewards through her other locations, and expressed her regret and gratitude. "Again, thank you for all the love and support. We loved bunny and everything we did there. This has been a good learning experience and I’m glad everyone loved it too."

I was just at Regan's flagship restaurant, Elizabeth on Friday, and everything was full and running smoothly. Here's hoping the closure doesn't affect any of her other ventures.
