A 58-year-old Archer Heights man was fatally shot in the head while seated at his kitchen table on Saturday night. The man, Andres Rivera, was shot at 8 p.m. in the 5200 block of S. Kolin Ave. and pronounced dead on the scene, a police spokesperson said.

The bullet that hit Rivera was from gunfire on the street outside his home, and came into Rivera's house through the front door, according to police. It appears that the bullet was a stray, and Rivera was not the intended target of the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, and no arrests have yet been made.
