Vince Vaughn has re-listed a sprawling penthouse in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood for sale. His three-story, 12,000-square-foot space in the Palmolive Building (159 E. Walton Pl.) is currently on sale as two units whose asking price totals $12.7 million.

This isn't the first time Vaughn, a Lake Forest native, has put this penthouse up for sale. It has been on the market, on and off, for the past five years; the current asking price is just over half what it was in 2011, when Vaughn listed it privately for $24.7 million, according to Curbed. In 2014, Vaughn re-listed the penthouse for a more approachable $14.9 million.

Now, realtor Katherine Chez Malkin of Baird & Warner confirms to Chicagoist that the property is on the market again, this time in a new format. The 36th and 37th floor are on sale for $8.5 million, and the 35th floor is on sale, separately, for $4.2 million. The $12.7 million total price tag is getting quite close to the $12 million Vaughn initially paid for the property in 2006.

The actor, best known for starring in Wedding Crashers and then trying to star in True Detective, has been struggling to sell his three-story penthouse in spite of its historical significance: Its top floor was home to Hugh Hefner's original Playboy office.
