Watch This Precious Baby Camel Trot Around The Lincoln Park Zoo

A new baby camel was born at the Lincoln Park Zoo last week, the zoo announced Thursday. The baby, a male, was born on May 9, and was four feet tall and 81 pounds at the time of his birth. This is why we are all lucky we will never give birth to camels.

“He is still a bit wobbly on his feet," zoo curator Diane Mulkerin said of the new baby in a statement, "but he remains quite strong and is ready to begin meeting the rest of the herd."

The Lincoln park Zoo's Bactrian camel exhibit currently consists of the baby; his parents, Nasan and Scooter; and two other female camels. The baby and his mom will be on exhibit on and off as he matures, but the rest of the two-humped camels can be seen daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You can also watch the baby camel walk on his teeny spindly legs in the video below. He's honestly a pretty good walker. At 1:22 in the video, the mom camel just barely clears an underpass with her hump, and we found that pretty adorable.
