The last music fest of the season, Riot Fest, announced the first phase of its lineup last week. Morrissey—ex-frontman of The Smiths—was fittingly listed as a headliner right next to "???" (presumably a surprise band).

"Morrissey???" indeed—Monday, a one-sentence post appeared on Morrissey fan site True to You (which Pitchfork describes as Morrissey's "official" fan site), saying the singer will not be performing at Riot Fest. Morrissey is apparently notorious for cancelling performance engagements.

We've reached out to Riot Fest PR to confirm, and will update this post when we hear back.
