Cubs Look Pretty In Pink Short Shorts

Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon is revered as an innovative baseball mind, but he and his charges have a pretty forward-thinking M.O. when it comes to sartorial decisions, too. The team was recorded Thursday boarding the bus for their game against the Miami Marlins in all manner of gloriously ostentatious duds.
Maddon's hot-pink shorts-and-coat combo is probably our favorite, but there are some other choice looks: cutoff sleeves on a plaid-patterned shirt, a whole lot of beach styles and leopard prints, and what appears to be a hilariously superfluous necktie.
The theme? "The Anthony Rizzo 'Who wears short shorts? Anthony wears short shorts' road trip," Maddon told MLB.com.
Work it, models.

Perhaps it shouldn't come as a surprise from a team with a laudably liberal attitude towards the sport's stodgy preoccupations with attire. This is, after all, the group known to don "Try Not to Suck" t-shirts and the manager quoted earlier this year saying, "If you think you look hot, you wear it. That's the dress code."
Mission accomplished.
