The long and tangled Double Door eviction case hit another delay on Thursday. Judge Orville Hambright, Jr. was expected to name a date by which the fabled music club must vacate its Wicker Park home; but the judge delayed his decision in order to allow further review of Double Door’s scheduled bookings, the Tribune reports.

Following a July 15 ruling that ordered the club to vacate, attorneys representing Double Door management were asked to supply Hambright with the club’s contracts. But they did not do so, citing confidentiality concerns. The club currently has shows booked through February 14, 2017.

Double Door management, including co-owner Joe Shanahan; landlord Brian Strauss; and Hambright will meet again in 10 days to review.

The dispute stretches back months. News surfaced last Decemeber that Strauss claimed Double Door had not provided proper notice of intent of lease renewal. A petition to save the beloved club—one of the last lifelines to Wicker Park’s subcultural heyday of the 90s—gathered more than 15,000 signatures, but it was not enough to reverse Double Door's apparent fate.
