Free Portillos For A Year? Yes, Please.

It's every red-blooded Chicagoan's Chocolate Cake Shake-drenched dream come true: free Portillo's for a year. The highly-coveted prize is being promoted as part of the hot dog chain's just-launched app, an ordering system that debuted Monday. Guests who register their app account before Aug. 31 are eligible to enter a sweepstakes that will score five winners free hot dogs, burgers, fries and other Portillo's goodness for a whole year.

The app, created with tech partner Olo, will allow customers to order ahead and avoid the popular restaurant's notoriously long lines, while also letting Portillo's continue using that top secret ordering code employees write on your bag when you order in person, a release said. The release doesn't mention whether that means you'll also get to keep enjoying the staff's famous "your order is ready" rhymes ("Number Nine, your order's on the line! Number Nine, on the line!") if you use the app. According to the Tribune, customers who order ahead will get to pick up their food at either the restaurant's bar area or a kiosk up front.

Aside from the alluring promise of 12 months of free Portillo's, the kick-off promotion also gives users $5 off an online order of $15 or more. The code to enter? Surprise, surprise: HOTDOG.

We're guessing Chicago's newly-crowned Hot Dog Queen has already signed up.
