Lovers of local foods, rejoice: it's time for the annual Slow Food Chicago Farm Roast. Chefs from some of Chicago's best restaurants have teamed up with Slow Food to bring a giant feast of rare, heirloom ingredients straight to your plates.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m., Slow Food will celebrate the foods in its Ark of Taste. These are the rare, heirloom and heritage breeds that are in danger of going extinct, and Slow Food has made its mission to encourage farmers to grow these foods, encourage chefs to cook them, and encourage you to eat them. It's a win-win—culinary diversity is preserved and you get some delicious treats!

For just $65, you'll get to taste dishes from these chefs:

Jason Vincent, Giant
Kevin Hickey, The Duck Inn
Dana Cree, The Publican
Rob Levitt, The Butcher & Larder
Christine Cikowski and Josh Kulp, Honey Butter Fried Chicken

Sarah Rinkavage, Lula Cafe
Sandra Holl, Floriole Bakery
