Attackers With Bats Broke Into A Ukrainian Village Home, Injuring 5

An 11-year-old boy and four other people were injured in a violent home invasion early Wednesday in the 1800 block of W Chicago Ave.

According to Chicago police, three attackers, armed with baseball bats, broke down the door of the East Ukrainian Village residence at around 1 a.m. and beat the occupants. One attacker displayed a gun.

Two men, 41 and 61, suffered head injuries and were transported to Stroger Hospital. The 61-year-old was listed in serious condition; and the 41-year-old is in good condition.

The 11-year-old boy was knocked over during the attack. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital along with two women, both 61, who were also at the residence. The boy and one of the women were in good condition; and the other woman's condition has stabilized, according to WGN.

Police say the suspects got away with $180 in cash and cell phones.
