Pamphleteers

The members of Pamphleteers are familiar, longstanding faces in the local music scene. They also all share a tragic common thread that stretches back to the horrendous car crash that killed musicians Michael Dahlquist, John Glick, and Doug Meis 11 years ago. Pamphleteer Rebecca Crawford was married to Glick, and Meis was drummer in her previous band, The Dials. Pamphleteer guitarist Jonathan Ben-Isvy was also in The Returnables with Glick. And that horrific crash still hangs heavy over the music of Pamphleteers.

Pamphleteers' debut, The Ghost That Follows, finds a group still grappling with loss, but through the lens of propulsive songs that reach toward the future instead of wallowing in the dark past. The group is officially releasing the album at a free show at The Empty Bottle on Monday night, but you can get an early listen (and buy a digital copy) below.
