What with horrors like this, right now seems like just about the worst time in recent history for Hollywood to order a remake of a fascistic vigilante-justice fantasy from a director with all the subtlety of a bloody fist to a rotting face. But not only will audiences soon have the chance to thrill to director Eli Roth’s Bruce Willis-starring Death Wish update, locals can catch a glimpse of filming this week right here in Chicago—and possibly land a role as an extra.

According to a filming notification posted to Public Collectors, Death Wish will be shooting in the Pilsen area from Wednesday through Friday. They’ll be getting the “unique Chicago look and remarkable architecture”—so basically exteriors and B roll it sounds like. The Tribune noted today that filming will take place in the Loop, including some chase scenes.

And if you’re looking to actually be a part of the action, the Trib also points out that 4Star Casting published still-active calls for extras and (calling all lookalikes) stand-ins.

In the meantime, if you've never seen the original Death Wish series, we recommend skipping right ahead to the completely bonkers third installment. Jimmy Page's nutty synth-and-slap-bass soundtrack alone is worth the time.
