Man Who Jumped In Front Of Loop Red Line CTA Train In Critical Condition

A 21-year-old man was critically injured after jumping in front of a Red Line train downtown on Sunday morning, according to police and fire officials.

The man was struck at 9:01 a.m. at the Lake station, in the 100 block of North State Street. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police spokesperson Bari Lemmon told Chicagoist.

Red Line trains were rerouted for roughly 30 minutes on Sunday morning, according to the CTA.
