Police Warn Of Robberies On The CTA Blue Line This Month

Several people have been robbed on the CTA Blue Line's Forest Park branch this month, according to a recent police alert.

Police warned in a Saturday alert that robbers have been striking CTA riders with fists, then taking their belongings from their pockets while on the CTA train or at CTA train stations in at least three incidents in the past month. And in a fourth recent incident, robbers grabbed a CTA passenger on the train platform and removed property from his pockets.

The robberies took place in the 500 block of South Pulaski Road on Sept. 19 at 3 a.m.; in the 500 block of South Pulaski Road again on Oct. 3 at 9:30 p.m., in the 500 block of South California Avenue on Oct. 7 at 12:30 a.m., and again in the 500 block of South Pulaski Road on Oct. 9 at 5:10 a.m.

The robbers were described in the police alert as black men, one of whom was 6'00" with dreadlocks, another who was described as 6"02', and a third who was described 30 to 40 years old, 5'09" and 160-170 lbs.
