Barack Obama's Workout Playlist Is (Almost) Perfect

Barack Obama likes to keep occupied. Despite still handling the nation's reins as POTUS, he managed to fit in an extra gig guest editing the latest issue of WIRED magazine. While at its helm, he shared his workout playlist with staffers (and the rest of the world). And as with many things Obama it is nigh perfect, albeit with one major misstep only a "hip dad" could make.

Most of Obama's selections are impeccable, and if they're not already on our own GYM JAMZ WORKOUT BLASTZ™ playlist, they soon will be. Warming up with tunes like Nina Simone's "Sinnerman" makes total sense once you hear it slam into gear. And Icona Pop's "Emergency" along with Beyoncé's "Get Me Bodied" will break us into a hot sweat every time. Throw in some indie guitar cred like Courtney Barnett's "Elevator Operator" and the cool dad vibes are flowing strong.

The mix can even handle tossing in something like Sting's “If You Love Somebody Set Them Free,” a song that might upset the balance of lesser virtual mix tapes.

The only thing keeping the President's selections from being above reproach is the inclusion of ... the Black Eyed Peas' “Let’s Get It Started.” Even cool dads pick duds sometimes.

Stream the whole playlist below. And once you're done with that, don't forget to revisit Obama's summer jams playlist. The season is always right for summer jams.
