The Cubs' curse-slaying World Series championship has already provided innumerable iconic sights and sounds. (How many man hours of labor has the city lost due to the Kris Bryant gif alone?) This Friday morning and afternoon is the culmination, of course, with the parade scheduled to arrive at the Grant Park rally around noon. It looks like the celebration will have its own unforgettable images and clips, too, and we're starting to see them already.
NBC Chicago's video of the gates opening, at around 8:30 a.m., is probably the most jaw-dropping visual yet.
Here's another look at the crowds pouring in.

Crowds began to form, even before dawn broke, and they continue to flood into downtown by the thousands. Needless to say, if you're heading down, be safe. And be very patient.
