Saved By The Max Extended Through May, Then Hitting The Road

The Saved By the Max pop-up diner is staying popped up in Chicago for a little while longer.

The living embodiment of nostalgia for the recent past eating its own tail real-life re-creation of Saved By the Bell’s The Max Diner is sticking around for one more “semester,” according to a press release—and video announcement from Dennis “Mr. Belding” Haskins.

You’ll be able to catch Saved By the Max through May. From there, The Max will be hitting the road, to take up shop in a city still to be determined by voters on social media.

The pop-up, which opened in June—back when IRL Gilmore Girls cafes were just a dream in Netflix’s eye—was previously extended through the end of 2016 after demand proved robust.
“The success we’ve seen with Saved by The Max has far surpassed anything we could have ever imagined,” said partner Derek Berry in a release. “We originally foresaw being open for only one month, so to now be staying open for one full year in Chicago, and then travel to other cities is a dream come true. Fans ask us almost every day where we are going next, and we couldn’t be more excited to show them what else Saved by The Max has to offer.”

Max reps promise a host of goodies for the final leg, including themed cocktails, celeb hosts (a Belding encore, perhaps?), DJs and new dishes from longtime collaborator and Michelin-starred chef Brian Fisher. (Despite our gentle snark, the talent in the kitchen is undeniable.)

Dinner reservations for the final extension go on sale at Dec. 22 at 11 a.m.
