Red Door, a beloved bar and restaurant on Damen Avenue with an excellent patio, has closed after four years in business.

Eater Chicago broke the news Tuesday, noting that the bar's website and Facebook page have been taken down, and calls to the bar go directly to voicemail. Owner and chef Troy Graves opened the Bucktown spot at 2118 N. Damen Ave. in 2012 after working at Eve, a since-closed Gold Coast restaurant. The restaurant, known for American fare and craft cocktails, closed Monday.

Red Door was consistently among our recommendations for the best patio dining in Chicago. Whatever comes next for the space will have its cozy, tree-lined back patio to take advantage of.
