The Chicago Police Department will be patrolling Lake Shore Drive on the Near North Side for possible DUI offenders tonight, the department announced Friday.

The police department's DUI Saturation Patrol will start patrolling the area for drivers breaking the law at 6 p.m. Friday and finish around 2 a.m. Saturday. In addition to possible DUI offenders, whom police will test using a Breath Alcohol level test, police will be looking out for people who are speeding or failing to wear their seat-belts. The department periodically patrols districts around the city for possible DUI offenders throughout the year.

Most recently, CPD was in the 9th District, on the Far South Side, where officers caught one person driving under the influence and also citied 18 other drivers for unsafe vehicle violations, insurance violations and other traffic violations.
