It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Shaw's Crab House (just check my instagram feed on any given weekend for my #oystergram photos) and its Lincoln Park sister restaurant Oyster Bah. I loved Oyster Bah when I first visited, and it has continued to improve on subsequent visits. Now, they're opening a second restaurant out of the top floor that only does take-out and delivery.

This may sound strange, but it is actually a fairly common part of the Lettuce Entertain You business plan. They love to carve new restaurants, and thereby new income streams, out of property they're already paying rent on. Think about M Burger, carved out of the Tru space, or Do Rite, carved out of the side of Petterino's. This one, however, is a bit different. Seaside, as it's going to be called, will operate out of Oyster Bah. It sounds like they won't even have a customer-facing space—you can either get delivery or pick up your food at Oyster Bah.

What's on the menu? It's a super short menu of what they're calling staple dishes of the Jersey Shore. Think fried chicken, ribs and whole lobsters, along with mac & cheese, fries, coleslaw and the like. Basically, it's oceanfront comfort food. A statement released by LEYE ascribes the idea to managing partner Bill Nevruz, whose nickname in college was, apparently "Seaside."

The new concept opens for delivery on Monday, March 13 and will deliver via DoorDash. Check out the full menu online.
