We've seen Malort cupcakes and Malort hot sauce, but we've never seen the spirit that Chicagoans' love to hate be elevated to quite this level before: Hoosier Mama, one of the city's best pie shops, is now making a pie with Malort.

Zagat broke the news of the pie, called the Chicago Sunrise. It's is a custard-style pie that incorporates the Malort into the filling. The creator, Ursula Siker, told Zagat that at first, the Malort was pretty revolting, but when she equated its bitterness with grapefruit, she was able to integrate it into the pie take on a Tequila Sunrise.

According to TimeOut, the pie will be available "sporadically" at both Hoosier Mama locations, and costs $26 for a whole pie. You'll need to order it in advance to be sure you can get it. We can't think of a better bitter end to a true Chicago dinner party.
