Chicago police are holding a person of interest in the brazen shooting earlier this month that killed Cook County Judge Raymond Myles and injured his girlfriend, according to authorities.

The person is being questioned related to the April 10 early-morning shooting, chief police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi confirmed to Chciagoist. No files had been charged as of early Thursday afternoon. Police previously charged, Joshua Smith, 37, in the slaying. Authorities allege that Smith drove the getaway car. Smith faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and armed robbery.

Myles, a veteran judge with the county's criminal court, was shot to death at around 4:51 a.m., just outside his home in the 9400 block of S Forest Ave., on April 10. A 52-year-old woman, identified as Myles' girlfriend, was also shot in the leg during the attack.

Police said the day of the attack that no property was taken from the home or victims. But at the time of Smith's arrest, police said at a press conference that the shooting may have been a robbery gone wrong. The Tribune reports that police are also looking into whether there may have been a personal motive as well: the alleged getaway driver is related to the onetime husband of the female victim, according to the paper.

Prosecutors argued at Smith's bond hearing that he and another perpetrator had followed the woman's comings and goings for several weeks in a plan to rob her, according to reports.
