As breweries have proliferated across the city, it's been interesting to see where clusters emerge. Possibly the most awesome craft brewing nexus in the city is in Ravenswood, where the availability of industrial space has given rise to a ton of craft brewers (and distillers). The Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce has recognized this nexus by naming a stretch of Ravenswood "Malt Row."

The new district runs from Irving Park to Balmoral, and includes some familiar names in brewing and distilling, including Dovetail Brewing, Begyle Brewing, Band of Bohemia, Koval Distilling, Empirical Brewery and Half Acre. Plus more is coming, including large production facilities from Spiteful and Half Acre.

The Chamber also got a grant from the city to support and promote the Malt Row project. More beer festivals, anyone?
