Hot Doug's: The Movie

Mark your calendars now: the Hot Doug movie has a premiere date: June 21.

We first reported about the existence of this landmark piece of encased meat cinema last month, and if you haven't watched the trailer, you really should. Producer Nicholas Markos and Director Christopher Markos gathered some of Hot Doug's biggest fans together for the 60 minute doc, and I'm particularly excited (if a bit weepy) to hear the narration from the late, great Homaro Cantu.

The movie will be premiering at The Davis theater in Lincoln Square (newly renovated), and tickets are just $10. You actually need to mark your calendars twice; tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on June 7, and I have a strong feeling they will sell out fast. There will be a Q&A with Hot Doug himself, Doug Sohn, and director Christopher Markos, after the 9:15 screening of the film.

Fun tidbit: Sohn hasn't actually seen the movie yet, and won't until the premiere. Which means that the Q&A is likely to be extra-interesting, so I'd recommend tickets to the later showing. Plus, that means you can grab dinner at Carbon Arc, the new restaurant at The Davis, before the show.
