A sprawling historic mansion in Uptown's Sheridan Park neighborhood is on the market for just under $1.5 million.

The 6,000 square-foot, five-bedroom home at 4752 N. Beacon St. was built in 1887 as a country estate, according to its real estate listing. The home is sprawled out over a lot close to three times the size of an average city lot, at 9,800 square feet, and features 17th-century, "Second Empire Style" architectural details. The home's modern, luxury amenities include an eat-in kitchen, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a penthouse family room and a 4-car garage.

It was last sold in 2013 for $1.1 million.
