One of our most gratifying moments of last year's Pitchfork Music Festival came during Carly Rae Jepsen's set, when a friend and longtime skeptic of Jepsen's talents texted me, "I feel so weird because I kind of love this. It pains me when you're right."

Hopefully by now you also realize Jepsen is so much more than 2012's song of the summer, "Call Me Maybe." E•MO•TION (2015) landed on our best albums of the year list, and the subsequent tour also blew us away. So that Pitchfork set was just a coronation of sorts, to convert any final doubters of her immense pop talents.

Jepsen popped back onto the cultural radar recently with another sublime slice of disco sugar, the single "Cut to the Feeling," that definitely made us hungry for more from her in 2017.

Luckily, we'll have a chance to see what Jepson has been cooking up next month. She's teaming up with M&Ms candies for a free Chicago concert at an as-yet-undisclosed location on July 11. If you want to get in on the action, you can RSVP here for a chance to win tickets.

Usually we'd make some snarky comment about PR stunts here, but we're honestly so giddy at the prospect of Jepsen playing Chicago, in this instance we're actually willing to tip our hat to a corporate tie-in.
