Photos: Ruido Fest Brought The Latin-Music Powerhouses, Luchadores & More

The annual Latin alternative music blowout Ruido Fest has firmly established its presence as a player on the local summer-festival calendar. The wide-ranging, three-day fest landed in Chicago for a third year this weekend, returning to Addams/Medill Park. It wasn’t without some controversy, but the vibe—as documented by Chicagoist photographer Tyler LaRiviere—was overwhelmingly fun and thrillingly varied.

Acts ranged from punk to pop to electronic, with lots more in between. Highlights included contemporary-cumbia greats Bomba Estereo and Norteño icons Intocable (both headliners), plus Molotov, Los Amigos Invisibles, Mon Laferte and many more. The extra-musical attractions drew a crowd, too, particularly the seriously animated (and perhaps slightly politicized) lucha libre matches. Check out the gallery above for highlights.
