The Cool Kids' New 'Checkout' Video Is Some Primo Anti-Rahm Shade

Chicagoans have been throwing expert shade at Mayor Rahm Emanuel long before New York's recent (response) shots fired. A new, choice dig just arrived in the form of a new clip courtesy of Chicago hip-hop favorites The Cool Kids—the beloved, recently reunited duo of Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks.

The pair on Wednesday released the video for "Checkout," a new single from their upcoming full-length, Special Edition Grand Master Deluxe, which is due later this year. (It'll feature spots from fellow Chicago travelers Jeremih and Hannibal Buress, among others.) At various points in the Chicago-shot, Emmet Kilmer-directed clip, a man sporting a Rahm mask is seen grubbing cash (which also sports the mayor's own teary visage) and snatching a check "for the kids" of Chicago Public Schools from the hands of a smiling child. It's a pretty direct shot at not only the mayor but also the broken funding mechanism that exists at the state level. Check it out above.
