Man Shot To Death Outside Lawndale Pink Line CTA Station Thursday Night

A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in Lawndale Thursday evening, not far from the CTA Pink Line Pulaski Station.

The shooting took place around 9:05 p.m., according to authorities, in the 2000 block of South Pulaski Road. The man, identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Jaron Jackson, was standing outside the station when another man came up to him and fired several shots at him. He was shot in the neck and the back, and pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, according to police.

The police department's Area Central team is investigating the shooting, and no one is in custody.
