Jeni's Will Give Out Free Ice Cream To Celebrate Its Newest Shop

It won't be that long until autumn is knocking on the door, which is why we try to squeeze every drop out of simple summer pleasures as we can. The ice-cream slingers at Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams are helping the mission with free scoops at the their newest location, in Old Town.

The Old Town outpost (1419 N. Wells St.) is open now, but the freebies won't arrive until next week. But mark your dessert calendar: Jeni's in Old Town will serve free scoops of ice cream between 7 and 11 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3. The first 50 in line also get a "swag bag."

Expect a bit of a line, though nothing on the magnitude of this.
