A woman reported to police that she was sexually assaulted after a man armed with a knife forced her into an alley near Wicker Park Fest, while the festival was taking place on Saturday night, authorities said.

A man with a knife, between the ages of 20 and 25, came up to a 24-year-old woman at around 7:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue then forced her into an alley, the victim told officers at St. Anthony Hospital, according to a police spokesperson. A second man, also between the ages of 20 and 25, was waiting in the alley, where one of the men sexually assaulted the victim, she told officers.

As pointed out by DNAinfo, who first reported the story, portable outdoor bathrooms from Wicker Park Fest—a popular neighborhood street festival with food and live music—were next to an alley in the same block during the weekend.

No one was in custody as of Thursday afternoon, according to a Chicago Police Department spokesperson.

A spokesperson for a joint committee of the festival organizers—Criterion Productions and the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce—said she was unable to comment on an ongoing investigation.
