Take A Look At Ace Hotel Chicago & The City's Newest Rooftop Bar, Open Now

The West Loop is teeming with new hotel developments, but few were as anticipated as Ace Hotel Chicago, the first local outpost for the bleeding-edge-hip boutique chain. We say "were" because as of today, the quite glam-looking accommodations are officially open for business,
ahead of its September target date. Perhaps most excitingly, Chicago's newest rooftop bar opens with it.

The seventh-floor bar/lounge, ironically dubbed Waydown, promises solid skyline views for the summertime months. And the beverage program is in good hands: Caitlin Laman—a onetime Food & Wine Best New Mixologist, and the current bev director at Mezcaleria Las Flores—is in charge of cocktails beer and wine.

That pairs with City Mouse, the latest from Chef Jason Vincent and the crew behind Giant (one of the 50 best new restaurants in the country, according to Bon Appetit.) The already popular spot has been running all-day service since last month.

You can check out some images from Waydown and City Mouse in the gallery above, along with some interior shots of some of Ace's 159 hotel units, in case you're plotting a staycation. The New Bauhaus-inspired, GREC Architects-designed hotel complex is located at 311 N. Morgan St.
