WeRateDogs, the Twitter phenom that professionally rates dogs on criteria like boopability and patability, is hosting a fundraiser that will benefit the Chicago-based rescue One Tail at a Time.

The fundraiser, called Clear the H*ckin Shelters, is hoping to raise at least $10,000 by the end of the week, which would be split equally between One Tail At A Time and The Shelter Pet Project. August 19 is Clear the Shelter Day, and rescues across the country will be hosting adoption drives to find permanent homes for their dogs.

WeRateDogs and One Tail at a Time go back. In February, the Twitter account featured Miguel, a dog with a difficult temperament who was the last to be adopted out:

With some publicity and some tender love and care from the shelter folks, Miguel was able to find a permanent home in May (here's a video about Miguel's human and adoption process). On August 19, the account will also be featuring pups like Miguel in need of adoption.

In addition to your donations, WeRateDogs is asking for adoption stories with happy endings, which it will feature on its feed. If you have a good one, you can email them here.
