A behemoth estate built for the Morton Salt family a century ago and located in tony suburban Lake Forest is on the real estate market for $7.9 million, after years of attempts to sell it were unsuccessful.

The home has been on the market off and on since June 2010, and since then its listing price has fluctuated up to $11 million and down to just under $5 million, according to Curbed. The massive, 11,000 square-foot mansion was designed by historic Chicago architect David Adler in 1915 for the daughter of Morton Salt Company founder Joy Morton. It sits on more than two acres of land with such luxuries amenities befitting a salt dynasty as a gated private driveway, a tennis court, a swimming pool and a garden.

It has eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and three half bathrooms, a 3-car garage plus parking spots for 10-plus cars, and a "discreet 3rd floor bar/party room," for all your discreet Lake Forest bar and party needs, according to the real estate listing.
