Five people were wounded in a shooting in Auburn Gresham early on Friday morning.

Officers responded to a call that people were fighting in the 8000 block of South Marshfield at around 1:18 a.m. and found five people shot, according to police. The victims said a shooter confronted them in the alley, police said.

Police sources told the Tribune that officers had been watching the area earlier after they got word that a vigil might be staged on the block.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized.

A 38-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were also taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, both with gunshot wounds to the leg.

And two women, 19 and 20, were taken to Holy Cross after being shot in the leg. The 19-year-old was listed in good condition and the 20-year-old's condition stabilized, police said.

At least thirteen people were shot in Chicago between Thursday afternoon and early Friday morning, according to the Tribune.
