You know the White Sox are sucking hard when their biggest fan leaves the ballpark in the third inning on a night dedicated to him.

Baseball Box Score: Garza Gets Cubs Win, Sox Set Slump Record
While things are looking bright on the North Side, it's pretty ugly on the South. Matt Garza was able to grab his first Cubs win of the season vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks but the White Sox are now breaking records with their slump after another loss to the Orioles.
Afternoon Box Score: Jackson Dominates, Sox Beat Rays
Edwin Jackson struck out a career-high 13 batters over eight innings of work and Alex Rios hit an RBI double as the White Sox gave a sold-out U.S. Cellular Field a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in their home opener. Rios, one of the Sox who's gotten off to a slow start at the plate, came through in the bottom of the first with a ground rule double to plate Juan Pierre and Gordon Beckham. Paul Konerko added an RBI single in the third inning, and Brent Lillibridge and Pierre added RBI singles in the eighth. Sergio Santos pitched a scoreless ninth inning to seal the win and showed some leather by wrapping up a 3-6-1 double play. But it was Jackson who was the star of the game. The righthander has masterful control of all his pitches as he improved to 2-0 on the season with a 1.93 ERA.
White Sox At the Midway Point
The White Sox ended the first half of the season as the hottest team in baseball - winners of an incredible 25 of their last 30 games. They’ll enter the second half trying to extend an eight game streak when they face the Minnesota Twins tonight to open a ten game road trip. After falling 9 1/2 game back in the AL Central by mid-June, the Sox stormed back and passed the Twins and Tigers to grab first place at the Break. Oh, and they won the inaugural (and unfortunately named) BP Crosstown Cup by winning four of six against the Cubs. Paul Konerko and Alex Rios have been steady performers all season, but only recently has Carlos Quentin displayed the bat that made him an MVP candidate in 2008. Similarly, the pitching staff took a while to get going, they've been a key component to the team's resurgence.
White Sox Acquire Rios
Kenny Williams, what did you do? We really thought you were smarter than this. We agreed with you when you traded for Jake Peavy, but we aren't so sure about your latest move. On Monday, the White Sox acquired Alex Rios from the Toronto Blue Jays after making a waivers claim for the 28 year old outfielder late last week. The Sox gave up nothing to the Jays, but assume the balance of Rios' 7-year, $69.8 million contract signed before the 2008 season.
Sox Interested in Alex Rios... Really?
Kenny Williams is always full of surprises. More often than not, they're the good kind -- like when he pulled Jake Peavy out of a hat at the trading deadline. But the latest rumors involving the Sox seems like a head-scratcher at first glance.
