Love him or hate him, you can't deny Kanye West has a certain flare. Proving himself to a more prolific blogger than Steve Johnson (and more entertaining, too), Kanye has dropped a few details about an upcoming tour. He'll be touring with fellow Chicago MC Lupe Fiasco, supporting his recently released (and excellent record The Cool), along with Rihanna, and Neptunes side project N.E.R.D. Whatever you think of Mr. West, that lineup is nothing to sneeze at. We also dig that Star Wars/Max Headroom promo poster you can see over to the right.

Get Your Sweet On in Andersonville
When we first began writing this post we considered giving it another title: "Get on your hands and knees and crawl". We decided against this title because the actual subject of the post wouldn't be immediately clear, and the event we speak of deserves perfect understanding. If you like sweets, the Andersonville neighborhood or the Swedish American Museum, then the Andersonville Dessert Crawl is right up your alley. For $20 (in advance) or $30...
Wow! That Park Looks Beautiful Under the Lights
Today is a momentous occasion in Chicago Cubs history. It was on this day eighteen nineteen years ago that the Cubs recorded their first official night game at Wrigley Field, beating the New York Mets 6-4 on a national stage; the game was broadcast on NBC with Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola in the booth. Note the use of the word "official." Their first night game was actually scheduled the previous evening against the...
Burstyn at the Seams
Ellen Burstyn is cool, and we all know it. From dealing with creepy Regan walking backwards on her fingertips (has there every been a scarier scene than that?), to her lonely, drug-addled TV addict in Requiem for a Dream, Ellen Burstyn has scared us with her acting chops on a number of occasions. Looking through her IMDb roster, we were amazed to see just how much she’s done, and surprised at how many of her movies we haven’t seen.
Weekend Jaunts: Sunday Edition
Take some time today to get out of the house after the Bears game today. We were riding on the train this week and overheard a gentleman describing his love for the Bears. "I'm so obsessed with the Bears -- it is, like, all I can think about. Even when I'm at work, I'm always e-mailing my friends and asking them, 'What do you think about the Bears, who is your favorite Bear?'" We, too, have Bears fever; to keep your mind off the Bears after the game, here a few things going on around town. Feel free to add events in the comments section.
It Looks Good On Paper
Last weekend, the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago opened its doors to the public. The first such museum “between the coasts” is also the newest Chinatown attraction, occupying the former Quong Yick wholesale headquarters. Saturday afternoon was a celebration of three years’ planning, fundraising, and extensive volunteer work. The Museum and its Foundation are entirely volunteer driven, and Chicagoist was briefly reminded of this Saturday while a group of them reattached the front door.
