The film Wanted starring Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and a lot of guns opens tomorrow. If you recall from your wasted time navigating around closed streets, many scenes were shot in Chicago. The movie has been getting mixed reviews but we'll go for the Chicago shots, Jolie one-liners, and "full-on pornography when it comes to the bullet's-eye-view-effects shots," as Michael Phillips so gunporn-ly put it.

But The Gene is tempting us to bundle up and head downtown for some great revivals and overlooked films of 2005. First up is "Merry Marilyn," a look at the films of Marilyn Monroe. Now: you...
New American cuisine served within the lush, feminine confines of what was once Green Room, Butter offers the West Loop a casual yet sophisticated dining experience. Walking into Butter, Chicagoist got the sense that it looks to accomplish two things: 1) appeal to the hipsters while maintaining a dignity that best befits a chef who cut his teeth at The French Laundry and Le Francais; and 2) be a place to be seen but not...
